Healing Drum Retreat

The April Healing Drum Retreat will include a special class on Reiki Energy Healing. Reiki energy healing is a term known worldwide. This style of energy healing was discovered by a monk by the name Usui in the 1800’s. In the words of Usui: “Our Reiki Ryoho is something absolutely original and cannot be compared with any other path in the world”.

“Reiki” is a japanese word that means “universal life energy”. While the word is not exclusive to the Reiki energy healing technique taught under the name Usui Reiki it is often used with this system of healing.

When using the Reiki healing energy the energy flows in through the top of the head, amplifying and healing the heart, and then flows down the arms to the hands where it is then transferred to the person or animal receiving the healing.

Is Reiki Healing difficult to learn? Not at all! The concepts are simple, and the “attunement”, which is like an education for your higher spiritual self, takes only minutes.

Do I have to work with others to use Reiki healing energy? Reiki healing energy can be used to heal yourself as well as others, in fact it is recommended that you always begin by healing yourself.

Where does the energy come from? Reiki healing energy is seen as a universal or cosmic energy and it is clear, healing, and holds a neutral charge (neither good or bad).

Will a Reiki healer take on the issues of the person they work with? No, the principles taught in Reiki Healing include the concept that the healer is the conduit, not the source of the healing energy. In other words, the energy flows through them, providing a flow of healing energies for both the Reiki healer and the recipient of the healing.

Can anyone learn Reiki Energy Healing? Yes, anyone can learn these techniques, male or female, young and old. Professional healers such as massage therapists learn Reiki energy healing to enhance their natural healing abilities and create a clear distinction between providing a healing service and the tendency to give away their own life force energy in a depleting manner.

Is Reiki Healing Energy only used when giving a healing? No, you can use reiki healing energies in your meditation time, while gardening or washing the dishes, and in play time like dancing or even playing basketball. Reiki healing energy is a universal energy that is intended to flow, and you can be connected to that stream of universal energy every moment of the day.
