Upcoming Service Project at the Healing Drum Retreat
At this upcoming Healing Drum Retreat we will have the drum making class on Friday evening April 16, 2010. Those interested in building their own custom drum should sign up early to assure that the hide and the frame they are interested in are available. Kaye has buffalo, horse, and elk available at this time, depending on the side drum you would like.
Prior Healing Drum Retreat participants who have made their own drum in the past are welcome to help us make two drum for our service project. Dave Lewis is donating funds for two drum kits to be made at the Healing Drum Retreat which will then be gifted to the Macah and the Yakima tribes for fundraising for their native education programs.
Our drum making classes are always great fun and a supporting community. The energy builds, and spirits soar as each person becomes a team member in drum making. We all help each other and make the drum with love, support, friendship, laughter, and connectivity. The drum then carries that “tone” throughout its new life.
Drum Making and Drumming are greats ways to connect in a very natural, spiritual way to our inner self, the rhythm of the heartbeat, the voice of the inner soul. Join us for this drum making event at Brighton Creek, and stay with us at Brighton Creek for the rest of the weekend and the Healing Drum Retreat where we will be drumming, singing, creating, healing and connecting both within and with a wonderful group of other bright spirits.
The Healing Drum Retreat is at Brighton Creek Conference Center in Yelm, Washington – this is a short drive from Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia and close enough for attendees from Chehalis and Portland, Oregon. Brighton Creek has cabin lodging, which is included in the registration fee for the Healing Drum Retreat. Sign up now!
