We All Deserve Our Own Name
The Healing Drum Retreat started three years ago with a gathering at Brighton Creek Conference Center near Yelm, WA. This event was very free flowing, and even with the structure brought in we still honor that spontaneous nature of being.
Since it’s origin we have blossomed. The topics covered during the weekend long retreat span from native crafting to herbal awareness to energy healing.
The Healing Drum Retreat website was created in July 2008, giving another venue of recognition to the participation of so many as attendees, supporters and organizers. Originally the site was hosted by Hummingbird Shaman. In early 2009 we finally took a step, and bought the domain – HealingDrumRetreat.com. This was great for the flyers, having the crystal clear site name, but the name was redirected to its original location.
It is now 2010, time for us to stand up on our own and pronounce our independence, just like the child on the first day of school. The HealingDrumRetreat.com website is now active on it’s own, with all gratitude and respect to HummingbirdShaman, Estee’s site which continues to be a strong part of the Healing Drum event.
We all deserve our own name, our independence and recognition of our efforts. During these strange economic times many pull back, wait, and stand under what appears to be the safe umbrella created by others. It is time for us to shine, to warm our own hearts in the belief that we are real, valid and valued.
The Healing Drum Retreat, presented by Kaye Tahwakeena and Estee Taschereau, has stood up for those basic rights. We are determined to create a space for you to know yourself and let go long enough to realize how expansive you truly are.
In this first month of January 2010 we are reorganizing and reconsidering. Our intent is to have a safe, warm, comforting retreat space, with healthy meals and warm beds for attendee’s. When compared to many weekend events that do not provide any accommodations or meals our event is very reasonably priced.
