Finding The Intuitive Meaning
What does intuitive mean? It used to be seen as the fortune reader in a tent at the carnival, set in a mystical atmosphere. Many tools were used to used to bring those intuitive insights into awareness, ranging from tarot and crystal balls to clairvoyant or psychic readings.
Thirty years ago we experienced a shift in our use of the word intuition. Greater emphasis was placed on our own abilities, though limitations still existed. Women were thought to have the intuitive or gut level feelings, but little credibility was placed on their insights. Men were not given such an illogical outlet, but those same abilities could be woven in to business savvy or the ability to create ingenious inventions.
How do we define intuition? It is far from tangible, and so giving definition might not be as easy as it seems. Intuition is by nature an esoteric ability, and any meaning we give it will always be woven into the solid world we live in.
Intuition does not always make sense. We may have a feeling, or just an image without explanation. Intuition alone does not make gain. We have to interpret our perceptions, but interpretation is based on our own experience. Finding a meaning that is the closest to truth has fueled our growth and philosophic adventures since the beginning of time.
The act of finding meaning has been a powerful driving force for mankind since the beginning of time. There is a sense of satisfaction felt when we connect our actions to meaning. The great philosophers discussed our nature within their small groups, yet today we continue to read the teaching of Plato, Socrates, and Augustine.
Our perceptions, when gathered through intuition, are still not fully accepted. We take things at face value, giving value based on something we can measure or touch. We have yet to fully embrace the idea that we only see a little of what is to be seen. Science supports this concept, for we have seen through science the universe contained in a drop of water and the connectivity of our souls through the quantum field.
What does our intuitive ability do for us? Intuition is a form of awareness, giving attention to life through a very personal observation. By assigning meaning to our visions we can grow, expanding our consciousness and opening the doors to a creativity that goes far beyond our beliefs.
Of the many philosophies in the world today, how do you find what is the right direction? Many tools exist to help us gather and weave our own personal knowledge and pathway, ranging from individual intuitive sessions to classes and books. There are many directions we can take, and every step can contain intuitive meaning. For more articles on consciousness and direction visit intuitivemeaning.com
