Unity WORKS! Northwest Native wall hanging art project
This month’s Unity Works, a family oriented, multicultural gathering, will be held at Hope Grange in Winlock, Washington on Saturday October 24, 2009. This event is open to the public, but please call to RSVP to Kaye at 360-785-4879 if you plan on participating in the crafting projects.
This event includes a potluck lunch and breakfast, please bring a contribution. The cost is donation based, with a recommendation of $5 or more per family, based on ability to pay).
Here’s the agenda:
9-10 am- Registration- and coffee hour with donations of fruits or breakfast breads
10 am- Morning Circle- please bring a writing that is meaningful to you to share with the group,
one that has influenced your life in some way.There will also be drumming and songs, so if you have a drum you can bring it.
12:30- set up for potluck lunch
1:30- Rick Chambers from Bend Oregon will be facilitating a Northwest Native wall hanging art project. Other artists will be attending as well.
When the art project is completed, the youth of Unity Works will be putting on a skit for us.
If you do any kinds of arts, people are going to be displaying and selling their art at this gathering. So feel free to bring your arts, and please contribute a small portion of your sales to Unity Works for our scholarship fund. Also if you have quality, gently worn clothing that you no longer want, we will offer a clothing exchange corner. Donations of clothing will be sent as well to “Dress for Success”, a program to assist those seeking jobs.
The address is 120 Antrim Road, Winlock, Washington. From I-5 take Avery Road West (exit 68), turning left if you are northbound, or right if you are southbound on I-5). Go west to the 2nd stop sign just past the RR tracks. Turn left, go 8/10 of a mile, turning left under the RR Tracks onto Antrim Road. The grange is 1 block on the right.
