My Oh Mayan! A look at the Tones for the June Solstice
This upcoming Healing Drum Retreat is right in line with the summer solstice. We also have to support and encourage us the insights of the Mayan Calender.
June 19, 2009 is 10 Cauac (Rainstorm). This is a time of letting go, and stepping into the warm, welcoming light. What a wonderful energy to bring into the opening of the Healing Drum Retreat! Here’s an overview of what we have to look forward to:
June 20, 2009 is 11 Ahau (Light, Lord). We’ve already seen evidence of the appearance of Ahau, the light, in the Saturday activities planned for the Healing Drum Retreat in June 2009. As above so below, and this solstice speaks of grace.
June 21, 2009 is 12 Imix (Alligator) is the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. Sol + stice derives from a combination of Latin words meaning “sun” + “to stand still.” We will open this day and “greet the morning like the rising sun”. Our morning will be filled with a recognition of our true self, and the celebration of Saturday’s amazing transition will continue through this long day of light.
Of course the greatest influence we have is our own insights and beliefs. Each Healing Drum Retreat is an uplifting, inspiring event for all who attend, and each person shares their own creative energies to the occasion.
