Thank you One and All
Occasionally we mention, in the Healing Drum Retreat website, an event called, “Unity Works”. What is Unity Works? It is a collective support space for children and adults, native and non-native, to learn, heal, and grow. Guest include inspirational speakers such as Roy Wilson (Grandfather) the Spiritual Leader and Storyteller of the Cowlitz tribe, who spoke of unity and the medicine wheel. This weekend Dr. Emi Hosoda is teaching her Nutrition Seminar, offering us amazing insights into diet and nutrition.
Unity Works offers a spiritual and restful focus on many levels that help us step out of our day-to-day struggles and see in a new light, a concept that is fostered as well by the Healing Drum Retreat. Both events are presented at Brighton Creek conference center near Yelm, WA.
Why do we mention Unity Works at this time? Well, at the last Healing Drum Retreat we offered opportunity to practice both giving and receiving. We turned to one another and gave thanks for sharing the experience. We played with the concepts of quantum physics and the interconnectivity we share. We crafted many amazing creations from drumming beaters to medicine bags, and give those artful souls an opportunity to create a beater as a gift to the First Nation group that meets in Tacoma each month. We also announced the Nutrition Seminar offered by Unity Works, taking place this weekend, and let everyone know of the opportunity to support this multi-cultural time created for awareness and learning.

Several attendee’s responded with donations to the Unity Works scholarship fund. We felt honored by their generous response.
Each person attending the Healing Drum Retreat gave in their own way, whether it was a smile, an open heart, a gifted drum beater, or a donation. Our ability to give and receive is a gift in itself, allowing us to connect to one another and experience that exponential joy that awakens us heart and soul.
Thank you again to each and every one of you, from those who help organize these events, to the attendees, and of course the wonderful staff and volunteers at Brighton Creek.
