Healing Drum March 2009 – Empowering!! Part 9 of 10
Who am I? Oh please, do we have to go there? Oh, just bear with me for a moment. This age old question can be defined and redefined every moment of every day.
Have you ever felt like you were on top of the world, and then something happens, and you feel it all crumble beneath you? One thought, one breath, one event can change our perception. So here we go again, “Who am I”?
Kaye: We are the sum total of everything we are and everything we like and even things that we dislike. “Mirror, mirror on the wall, I am a part of this cosmic all. When I wake up I’m glad to be a clearer reflection of what’s inside of me. I don’t have to be anger and hate, I can wash it clean, I don’t have to have that on my plate”.
Estee: “This world is a Yin Yang experience. We love to be secure, yet we also walk on the edge. This is not a great mystery, nor is it a puzzle to solve. It is the greatest gift. What is that gift? Freewill. The ability to choose. The ability to think, dream, make mistakes. We are so empowered, perhap a little misplaced, but empowered nonetheless.”
Kaye: “Well, let me reply to that! I think we are one big puzzle, and each of us a piece. Just so I don’t have to fit I’ve filed off some of my edges to try to make myself fit somewhere else. But the truth is when we all look into where our place is, all we need to do is accept our own puzzle shape and size and fill that space only we can fill. Whether its wearing feather to the pow wow, or taking tickets at the theatre, or pumping gas, its all good. Even if you’re the bum on the street we’re all part of the puzzle, and we all fit.”
Estee: “We’ll talk about empowerment again during the March 2009 Healing Drum Retreat in Yelm, Washington. Kaye and I visited the Brighton Creek Conference Center, the facility where we offer the Healing Drum, just yesterday. We confirmed the menu, talked to the wonderful staff, and made sure things will be in order – the event is only two weeks away and we had a hail and snow fall bless our arrival”
