Partial Eclipse August 16, 2008: Change, Nectar of Spirit
On August 16th we completed a cycle begun earlier this year with the eclipse in February 2008. Though this eclipse was not visible to us in the Pacific Northwest, it was felt nonetheless. This event took place approximately 2pm Pacific Time. The shift affected us both spiritually and physically, including the surge of emotional energy that accompanies any change.
The night to follow brought a surprising display. I looked out to see the full moon, and saw no sign of it. Trying to return to a sleeping state I began to notice an occasional flash of light coming from outside. An intense thunderstorm moved through our area over the next few hours. The energy charge was rich and powerful. I typically don’t “feel” a thunderstorm, but this one was clear and exhilarating. I stayed on the edge of sleep for the next few hours, and then suddenly knew the storm was complete through another strong energy shift.
Change is great, for change signifies a flow of energy, the nectar of spirit. Change can be good for the body as well when we understand the change and feel safe in the direction it takes us. We can create that charged, energized feeling of the thunderstorm, without fear of a lightning strike, through meditation and focus on our energy field. The Healing Drum Retreat is intended to provide this safe space in which to explore our spirituality, and recognize our true, divine self. The next retreat takes place in Yelm, WA, not too far from Olympia. The full weekend package includes meals and cabin style lodging, or tent camping if you prefer. Change, the nectar of spirit!
